How to Make a Handle Hole for your Wood Bench

Just follow these 6 easy steps, to make a Handle Hole for your bench. I use the same steps to make Handle Holes for all the benches I make, its easy. You will need the following tools: Tape Measure, Pencil, 2" Hole Saw, Drill, Jig Saw, File, Router & 15 minutes of time.
Step 1 - Measure and Make 2 Marks 3" Apart on Center of Longest Side of Board. This is the hardest part make sure your marks are centered on board. Remember the 2" Hole Saw will add a 1" to each side of the handle. (3" Wide Marks equal a 5" Wide Handle)
Step 2 - Drill 2 Holes on marks using a 2" Hole Saw, once the pilot drill goes thru the board, flip the board and finish the hole from other side, to prevent ripping of the wood. It will make a nicer hole by doing this.
Step 3 - Draw Line Connecting the 2 Holes, use a straight edge.
Step 4 - Cut on Line Connecting the 2 Holes, stay inside of line.
Step 5 - File to Blend Cuts and finish the hole.
Step 6 - Router Edges Both Sides of Handle Hole and Only One Side of Complete Board. (Better Side) If you don't have a router use sandpaper to soften the edges.
The Handle Hole is Now Complete!
